Can I make style edits to a template I'm using?

Last Updated: May 28, 2012 10:39AM CDT
Sorta. You can make minor changes to each template. However, you cannot make changes to font, font size or margins because each of our templates are created by experts at certified career centers, optimized for the way employers screen your resume by eye and machine. This enables you to save time in designing your resume.

However, you can further personalize your resume and customize it for every job by boldening or italicizing key skills. Other style changes you can make include underlining, bulleting and hyperlinking text.

To make these changes, click on the on-screen preview of your resume to open up your text-editing popup with the style editor guide.

The style editor helps you style your information by inserting special characters into the text to render the specific styling.
For instance, if you want the following effect for a sentence:
  • As Coordinator, I led 3 people in the division, leading to 25% more sales than before taking up the role.

Highlight "Coordinator" and "25% more sales" with your cursor and then click on the bold button in the style editor.  Your text should look like the following in your editor:
  • As *Coordinator*, I led 3 people in the division, leading to *25% more sales* than before taking up the role.

After you click on the save icon, it will render the bold style.
